Note to self: When you combine rich, sweet caramel sauce with brown sugar and crisp, fresh apples, you can't go wrong. Place this all on top of a light and flaky crescent roll and you have yourself a true fall favorite dessert. It gets better... since you are here on the SIMPLY Dellicious site, you better believe this recipe is super SIMPLE. This easy fall dessert idea really encompasses many flavors of fall in one square.

This is a baking recipe that would be great to try with kids. While an adult chops the apples, the kids can spread the brown sugar or mix the cinnamon sugar. You can even let them drizzle the caramel - this may be the one time you are happy if they have a heavy-hand 😉

Caramel Apple Squares
Ingredients
  • 1 Tube crescent dough (8oz), preferably the crescent dough sheet, if available
  • 1 Apple, cored, peeled and chopped. We used honeycrisp apples but any will work!
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup White Sugar
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Caramel topping
  • Salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheet with parchment and spray with cooking spray.

  2. Roll out crescent dough sheet onto parchment* Poke holes all over with a fork. Top with brown sugar, covering the entire sheet of dough.

*If you are using crescent roll dough, try to pinch seams to make one single sheet.

  3. Top with apples distributing evenly across rolled out dough. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar and drizzle caramel on top.

  4. Bake until golden brown, 23 to 25 minutes.

  5. Add a sprinkle of salt and ENJOY!!!
