This is one of the best and easiest dinner recipes we've created. The ingredient list is simple and most items you may already have. I love that this recipe tastes like comfort food but doesn't have the unhealthy burden that usually comes with that type of meal. This is surely a go-to meal for our families and a lot of fun spices and twists you can play around with.
- 3 chicken breasts (or 1.5 lbs)
- 1/2 cup sour cream or greek yogurt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp all purpose seasoning salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 3/4 cup parmesan cheese
- Cooking dish 9" or 9x13
- Medium mixing bowl
-
Preheat oven to 375 and spray baking dish with non-stick spray. For 3 chicken breasts I used a 9" glass dish. If you double the recipe, use a 9x13 baking dish.
-
Mix the sour cream (or greek yogurt for a healthier option), garlic powder, seasoning salt, pepper and 1/2 cup of the parmesan cheese
-
Place the chicken breast in the baking dish and spread mixture on top of the chicken. Top with remaining 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese
-
Bake 25-30 minutes. For extra crisp, sometimes I like to put the oven on broil for the last 2-3 minutes until the top is lightly golden brown.
-
While the chicken is cooking, you can start cooking rice on the stove. Most boxes of rice cook in 25 minutes or less so it is the perfect meal addition to this chicken. Everything finishes at the same time and voila easy dinner recipe in 30 minutes.
Loved that I had all ingredients on hand. Used nonfat Greek yogurt too. Very easy and a nice change. I dont use season salt so I added a touch of dried basil and hot pepper flakes.
Great, love that addition of basil and hot pepper flakes! Great idea and thanks for sharing!
