This Sausage & Mushroom Creamy Pasta is a favorite in our household. This easy one dish meal whips up in about 20 minutes but taste’s like you spent hours in the kitchen. The combination of flavors and textures hit all the notes…rich, creamy, and savory. Did I mention it’s so DELLicious and SIMple to prepare?
We've also included instructions to make this as a vegetarian option too so check out the details below!

- 1 lb Farfalle pasta
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 8 oz White/wild mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup Dry white wine (substitute: you can also use chicken broth)
- 3/4 cup Heavy cream (substitute: you can also use milk)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 cup Parsley, chopped
- Medium/large saucepan
- Large skillet
- Strainer
-
Remove sausage from its casing, add to a large sauté pan, crumble and brown over medium high heat. (This should take around 6-8 minutes)
-
With Sausage browning, cook pasta according to package instructions for al dente. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water when draining.
-
Once Sausage is well browned, lower heat to medium, add minced garlic and mushrooms. Cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
-
Add White Wine and Cook until reduced by half (about 5 minutes)
-
Add cream, about 1/2 cup of the reserved pasta water, parmesan, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and parsley. Cook until the sauce has thickened, adding more pasta water if needed.
-
Stir in the cooked pasta and toss well to coat.
Notes: To make this a vegetarian meal, simply exclude the sausage and double the amount of mushrooms listed. You can also use other meat substitutes in place of the sausage.
