We all need a classic green side dish recipe we can rely on when we're in a pinch and this green bean recipe is exactly what you've been waiting for! It is the best healthy side dish option and ready in less than 10 minutes. If you're not into trimming and cutting fresh green beans you can even buy a pre packaged bag and this recipe still works perfectly! This is one of our favorite go-to vegetable side dishes on our menu every week. 

Simple Green Beans

Ingredients
  • 1 lb Fresh or Pre Packaged Green Beans (if they are fresh, rinse and trim ends)
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 4 cups Water for boiling
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1-2 tsp Minced Garlic, to taste
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • Salt + Pepper
Cooking Things
  • Medium Skillet
Instructions
  1. Add green beans to skillet and cover with water and sugar and mix. Cook on high and bring to a boil.

  2. Once water is boiling, reduce heat to medium-low and let green beans simmer until tender (about 5 minutes). Drain green beans and then return to pot.

  3. Add butter, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper and mix until butter is melted and combined
